The Great American Ball Park will be welcoming baseball fans through its doors once again on Monday, April 3, 2017 for the 2017 Cincinnati Reds Opening Day against the Philadelphia Phillies at 4:10pm. If you remember back to last year, the Reds also opened the 2016 season against the Phillies winning a three-game sweep.
After three losing seasons in a difficult division, including the Chicago Cubs, St.Louis Cardinals, and Pittsburgh Pirates Cincinnati, fans are hoping for a better positioning this season for the future of the establishment.
Cincinnati Reds Opening Day Tickets
The Reds opener in Cincinnati is a much anticipated all-day event, even a holiday for some, whether you go to the game or not since opening day tickets are known to sell out fast! A few local bars are giving lucky patrons a chance to win Opening Day tickets if you haven’t already secured yours, so make sure to bar hope with enthusiasm.

98th Annual Findlay Market Opening Day Parade
Opening Day celebrations are a time-honored tradition in Cincinnati, the highlight being the 98th Annual Findlay Market Opening Day Parade held by The Findlay Market Association. The 2017 parade will begin at noon on Monday, April 3rd. This year’s route will start at Findlay Market, then head straight down Race Street until meeting up with 5th Street. The celebrations continue at Fountain Square to celebrate the beginning of the season with concessions and the Reds game being played on the big screen, so make sure to pack your shaker and a lawn chair!

There is a lot going on to celebrate Opening Day in Cincinatti, below is a list of the local bars and restaurants hosting events and specials to cheer on the Reds 2017 Opener.
5th Annual Reds Community Fund Charity Block Party
The annual Reds Community Fund block party benefiting the P&G Cincinnati MLB Urban Youth Academy will start at 11am outside of the Great American Ball Park on Joe Nuxhall Way and Freedom Way. Come out before gamete to enjoy live music provided, beer trucks and tents until 4pm.
Opening Day Celebration in Washington Park
This free Opening Day Celebration begins at 11am on Monday, April 2rd featuring beverage sales, fun games, and live music. The Findlay Market Opening Day Parade procession will pass by Washington Park on Race Street followed by more live music, family-friendly activities, cold beverages, and food options from the Washington Park’s concession stand and breweries Madtree, Taft’s, Moerlein, and Rhinegeist. The game will be aired at the Washington Park Deck.
Opening Day at Fountain Square
Give Back Cincinnati and MadTree Brewing will be pouring beer for Red’s fans all day long at the 2017 Rally of the Square on Fountain Square. Come support Give Back Cincinnati’s biggest fundraiser of the year from 10am to 6pm!
Arnold’s Opening Day Festivities
The oldest tavern in Cincinnati, Arnold’s, is often the hot spot on Opening Day and this year isn’t any different. They will be serving breakfast and slinging drinks starting at 9am on Monday, April 3rd and are offering their best draft list EVER of over 20 rare beers!
Over 100 baseball prizes available to win in one marked beer cup out of every five used.
Enjoy Todd Hepburn on the patio playing every baseball song on the piano to play every baseball song from 11am-3pm. Cincinnati Shakespeare Company’s Jeremy Dubin and Justin McCombs will be performing Casey at the Bat and Who’s on First live throughout the day and Jim Tarbell will appear as Peanut Jim Shelton playing the mouth Harp. Holy Grail
Grab a cold one at the closest bar to the ballpark, the Holy Grail. Celebrating 6 years last month, this bar doesn’t disappoint with 15 tap beers, great American fare and a brand new facility with over 30 flat panel TV’s to watch all the Opening Day activities.
Opening Day Party Tent with The Tillers
On Opening Day, the Moerlein Lager House will open its doors starting at 10 a.m., and have a Party Tent on the Event Lawn featuring a live concert by The Tillers with opening act Ricky Leighton from 12-4 p.m. The Moerlein Lager House will have their regular food and beverage service inside the Moerlein Lager House as well as offer food and beverage in the Opening Day Party tent with The Tillers. A full lineup of Moerlein Craft and guest beers will be featured including three one-off styles for the occasion.
Igby’s
Baseball is back at Igby’s on Opening Day! Doors open at noon and DJs will be on the decks till 4pm. Chance to win tickets, sample Tito’s Vodka, and enjoy a special ballpark menu.
Rhinehaus
Rhinehaus, the original OTR sports bar, will open early on Opening day at 9am for Mimosas. Check their website for more details to be released.
Knockback Nat’s Neighborhood Bar
Knockback Nat’s Neighborhood Bar, voted Best Wings in the 2017 Citybeat “Best Of” issue, will start Opening Day party at 10 o’clock with giveaways, big beer specials, and $1 dogs. A pair of Opening Day tickets are even up for grabs as well as summer night game tickets!
