Downtown Cincinnati Neighborhoods

Cincinnati offers a variety of neighborhoods ideal for downtown living.  Each downtown Cincinnati neighborhood has something unique to offer its occupants and it is a good idea to consider each one for your own lifestyle and needs.

Fourth Street Historic District is a historic district for renters in Downtown Cincinnati and home to fixtures such as Lombardy Apartment Building and the commercial Hooper Building.  Fourth Street has some of the most unique shopping and dining options in the city.  The West section of the Fourth Street area is more residential with recently built luxury condos taking over the commercial space that is more available on the east side.

Gateway Quarter, located in Over-the-Rhine, is part of Cincinnati’s most historic neighborhood filled with Italian architecture that has undergone a major urban makeover.  This area is the epitome of Cincinnati downtown living with the Brewery District and Findlay Market in your backyard.

Lytle Park Historic District is one of the oldest areas in southeast downtown Cincinnati.   It is host to Georgian, Greek Revival, and Italianate architectural styles and was home to the elite during the formation of the city.  It was declared a historic district in 1976.  Today, it is both a mixture of residential and business properties roughly bounded by 3rd, 5th, Sycamore, Commercial Sq., and Butler Sts., according to its Wikipedia page.  This area is ideal for the person that likes urban living without the nightlife and easy access to parks with Lytle Park at the center and a short walk from the riverfront parks.  Both Park Place at Lytle or Lytle Tower are offer renting options in the area.

Riverfront is the ideal for living the city life.  Just steps away from seeing a Reds or Bengals game while still enjoying views of the river, Mt. Adams, and the Cincinnati skyline.  The Riverfront offers high rise apartment buildings and the new luxury condos coming to each block.  Go for a walk and you’ll quickly be able to find something happening in this downtown Cincinnati neighborhood!
